World Wind Day

Hello Everyone My Name is Vivek Chaturvedi. I am writing a vlog about World Wind Day.

Global Wind Day or World Wind Day is a worldwide event that is held on June 15 around the world. It is organised by WindEurope (WindEurope) and GWEC (Global Wind Energy Council). It is a day when wind energy is celebrated, information is exchanged and adults and children find out about wind energy, its power and the possibilities it holds to change the world. In association with EWEA and GWEC, national wind energy associations and companies involved in wind energy production organise events in many countries around the world. In 2011, there were events organised in 30 countries, on 4 continents. Events included visits to onshore and offshore wind farms, information campaigns, demonstration turbines being set up in cities, wind workshops and a wind parade. Many events happened on Global Wind Day (15 June) itself, but there were also events on the days and weeks before and afterwards. In 2012 there were 250 events around the globe and a very popular photo competition.

Global Wind Day or World Wind Day is a worldwide event that is held on June 15 around the world. It is organised by WindEurope (WindEurope) and GWEC (Global Wind Energy Council).

2019
For 2019, WindEurope and GWEC launched the international photo competition "Future Wind" in the run up to Global Wind Day. The competition received over 600 photos from more than 50 countries.

2018
For 2018, WindEurope and GWEC launched a global photo competition to capture the power of wind in the run up to Global Wind Day.

History of Global Wind Day:

Global Wind Day was inaugurated in 2007 as Wind Day and it only came to be known by the current name in 2009. It had been organised by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), and in 2007 it had reached 18 countries in Europe, with around 35,000 people taking part in it. The day is marked on June 15 every year.

What is Wind energy?

The wind is moving air and is a form of energy. It is caused by differences in air pressure within our atmosphere. Under high pressure, air moves toward areas of low pressure. Let us tell you that the greater the difference in pressure, the faster the air flows. As we know that Cyclone Vayu may hit the Gujarat state. It is also the windstorm which may cause landfills. Winds can range from a light breeze on a hot summer day to tornadoes and hurricanes or cyclones with speeds of hundreds of kilometers per hour.

When we see Air, it does not seem like anything but during a windstorm, its presence can be seen. Wind may lift roofs off buildings, blow down power lines, accidents at highways, push car, trucks etc.

How Wind is formed?

It is formed by the uneven heating of the Earth by the sun. You can't see it but you can feel it. When there is a difference in atmospheric pressure winds are generated. Let us understand the phenomena:

At the Equator, due to sun water and land are more warm as any other part of the globe. Therefore, warm equatorial air rises higher into the atmosphere and migrates towards the poles. This is known as a low-pressure system. Now, at the same time, cooler or denser air moves over the surface of the earth towards the equator to replace the heated air. This is known as a high-pressure system. Winds generally blow from a high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas. And the boundaries between these two areas is known as the front. Various types of wind and weather patterns are caused between fronts. Like prevailing winds that blow from a single direction over a specific area if the Earth. And the areas where these prevailing winds meet are known as convergence zones.

Please use nature energy. Like solar panels, wind plant.
